"We want to create an all-inclusive like-minded community of people with a keen interest in fitness, being active and socialising. The gym has been a big part of our lives and we want to create that community that has a positive impact on the local area.
So far this project has taken 8 months and counting and our original £80k budget has rolled thousands over! (note…this isn’t on Recharge kit, but due to external challenges). Mostly down to unforeseen necessities, a full electrics overhaul, and our ongoing road layout changes required at our entrance road which are still stopping us from formally launching the gym.
We offer multiple different memberships to suit all needs, but a basic 30-day rolling contract is £35pp.
DOMS is for everyone! Fitness newbies, experienced gym rats, bodybuilders, circuit lovers, and seniors looking to improve or maintain mobility. We want to create a space that than just about physical health but mental health too, as it's important to unwind and have quality you time.
To break even, we need 300 memberships, we hope to hit 1000 members in our first year of running.

Launching a community gym near Swindon
At the heart of the Royal Wootton Basset fitness community, DOMs Fitness emerged with a powerful vision: to create an uncompromising training environment where both elite athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts could thrive. When selecting their commercial gym equipment partner, they chose Recharge Fitness to bring this vision to life.
Their commitment to excellence aligned perfectly with our premium commercial gym equipment solutions. Starting with gym flooring, through to machines, every piece was carefully selected to support their members' fitness journeys.
Today, DOMs Fitness and their team have shown huge resilience to get this gym complete (after a few council-based fun and games) and are on their way to reaching their 1,000-member target.
Their state-of-the-art facility not only meets the demands of serious training but exceeds expectations in both functionality and durability. It's a community first gym so we are excited to see how their proposition evolves with more plans ahead.
How Recharge Helped
We've provided a range of kit using a few different financing methods. We have tried to take the pressure off their delayed launch (due to highways planning issues) and have utilised financing. They are a great bunch at DOMS and we know they will do very well.

Kettlebells, Barbells, Bumper plates, Storage Solutions, and Various gym accessories including Balls, Bands, Boxes alongside pin select kit from our commercial range.
